Paintings
My paintings are influenced by my strong connection to Chicago and its endless inspirations, the human face and figure, Japanese block prints, the ever- changing rhythms and forms of nature, Surrealist and automatist ideas, and cartoons of the 1960s and 1970s.

Working primarily on small wood panels, and occasionally on canvases of varying sizes, I use oil paint and pencil to create semi-abstract imagery that invites viewers into a process of discovery and interpretation.
Ambiguous forms emerge and shift within each composition, prompting questions: is that shape a figure, an animal, or something entirely unfamiliar? Is that a part of a body, and which part?
Through vivid color, layered mark-making, and fluid compositions, I aim to create paintings that feel both deeply personal and open-ended. My hope is that viewers are left with the sense that they have encountered something individual, memorable, and alive with ideas.”
